Muuv is a boutique fitness studio in downtown Concord, California, offering athletic XFormer Pilates and Cardio Climber classes.
Our workouts combine strength, cardio, endurance, and controlled movement in a welcoming group environment. Whether you are new to boutique fitness or looking for a fresh challenge, our instructors will help you get started.
-
Yes. Beginners are welcome in our classes.
Your instructor will introduce you to the equipment, explain the movements, and offer modifications throughout class. You do not need previous Pilates, XFormer, or VersaClimber experience to begin.
We recommend arriving early for your first visit so your instructor has time to walk you through the studio and equipment.
-
Choose an XFormer Pilates class when you want a low-impact, strength-focused workout that challenges your core and entire body.
Choose a Cardio Climber class when you want a shorter, high-energy cardiovascular workout using the VersaClimber.
You can also try a foundations class for both methods (noted in the class schedule) to get familiar and confident with our method.
-
Please arrive approximately 10 to 15 minutes before your first class.
This gives you time to check in, meet your instructor, tour the studio, and receive an introduction to the equipment.
For safety reasons, first-time clients who arrive after class has started may not be able to participate.
About Muuv
XFORMER PILATES
-
XFormer Pilates is an athletic, resistance-based workout performed on an XFormer machine.
Classes use slow, controlled movements to keep your muscles engaged and challenge your strength, balance, endurance, and stability. The workout is inspired by Pilates principles but is designed to feel more athletic and intense than a traditional mat Pilates class
-
No.
Both methods emphasize control, alignment, core strength, and intentional movement. XFormer classes generally use more resistance, longer periods of muscular tension, and a faster-paced group-class format.
People who enjoy Pilates, strength training, or low-impact workouts often find XFormer to be a challenging routine to build strength and endurance.
-
XFormer, Lagree, and Megaformer-style workouts share several similarities, including resistance-based equipment, slow movements, and continuous muscular engagement.
Muuv teaches its own XFormer method and is not affiliated with Lagree Fitness. Your instructor will coach you through Muuv’s specific class structure, movement standards, and equipment.
-
Yes. XFormer Pilates is designed to be low impact because it does not depend on running or repeated jumping.
Low impact does not mean low intensity. The resistance, tempo, and length of each movement can make the class highly challenging.
-
No. You do not need to be especially flexible to participate.
Mobility and flexibility may improve over time, but the class is designed to help you work within your current range of motion. Your instructor can suggest modifications when needed.
-
XFormer Pilates is a full-body workout that can engage your:
Core
Glutes
Legs
Arms
Shoulders
Back
Many exercises work several muscle groups at once while also challenging balance and stability.
-
XFormer classes are approximately 45 minutes.
Please allow additional time before your first class for check-in and equipment orientation.
cardio climber (versaclimber)
-
Cardio Climber is Muuv’s VersaClimber-based workout.
The VersaClimber uses a vertical climbing motion that engages your arms, legs, and core at the same time. Classes combine guided intervals, music, resistance, and instructor coaching to create an efficient total-body cardio workout.
-
Cardio Climber classes are approximately 30 minutes.
The format is designed to provide a focused, high-energy workout in less time than many traditional group fitness classes.
-
The VersaClimber offers a lower-impact alternative to many workouts involving running or jumping because your feet remain supported on the pedals.
The class can still be cardiovascularly demanding. Your instructor can help you adjust your pace and resistance.
-
Yes. Beginners can control their own speed and intensity.
Your instructor will explain the equipment, demonstrate proper form, and coach you through each interval. You can slow down or take recovery breaks as needed.
-
Yes. The vertical climbing movement engages the upper body, lower body, and core simultaneously.
Cardio Climber classes can help improve cardiovascular endurance while also challenging muscular stamina and coordination.
